Against all odds film
the 47' version it was Robert Mitchum against Kirk Douglas, the new release star's Jeff. On the whole this is a very watchable film with some very steamy scenes. One of the better commentaries I've heard, there is a lot of great anecdotes from a rare track by Jeff Bridges and James Woods. Ward in this one is just a spoiled young woman who runs off with bookie James Woods to upset mom and then runs off with him. Terry visits Kirsch's secretary Edie (Swoosie Kurtz she tells him about a secret box containing information to bring down the entire syndicate and local politicians, after another security guard confrontation he is able to get the files. No police are involved, and bodies too conveniently disappear.
This girlfriend also happens to be the daughter of the woman who owns the.A. When Bridges is cut from the football team, bookie Wood hires him to find his girlfriend. So Bridges' sleazy gambler/clubowner/gangster buddy Woods decides to hire Bridges (for whom playing with some other team isn't even considered) to track down his ex-girlfriend who happens to be the owner's daughter. In a nod to film buffs, Jane Greer, star of the 1947 version, appears as Ward's cold distant mother. Bridges looks great with a lean build, a tan, shades, and a beard that makes him look like a cross between Dan Fouts and Kenny Rogers. Nevertheless, I still enjoyed this partially flawed movie. When he finds her, they fall in love, and the twists start to appear. But the whole basic structure of the story was completely changed.
The ending seems especially forced, with an outcome that is less than satisfying. Most definitely recommended for those who have yet to check this one out. Remember how everyone ended up in the RKO film and the same doesn't happen to most of them. On the whole, ' Against All Odds ' can kunstner fra frde be watched once. Hey, where do I sign up? A change that for shadows the coming of the real world you always knew was there but that you had hoped against hope to avoid, you'll love this movie. The Late/Great Jane Greer leaves a mark. Like Past, Against, all, odds is based on the Daniel Mainwaring novel Build My Gallows High, and Jane Greer, who played the Rachel Ward character in the earlier film, is here cast as Ward's mother. The chemistry between Bridges and Woods is very intriguing and the romantic angle between Ward and Bridges will surely make your heart melt like a snowman in a microwave. Terry fights off the security guard, then hides Kirsch's body. Things take a turn for the worse and the lovebirds find themselves in a precarious situation that neither of them can escape.
